What type of customers can open a trading account with India Infoline.com Securities Pvt. Ltd.?

The 5 paisa facilities are available to Resident as well as Non-Resident Indians (NRIs). Individuals as well as entities like sole proprietary/ partnership/ corporate firms can open a trading account with us. To open an account, you have to become a registered user of 5paisa.com.

How do I open a trading account in 5paisa.com?

Simply log on to www.5paisa.com, and register by clicking on the Register icon on the home page. Once you register by giving your details, you have the option of receiving the forms by mail, or having our agent visit you. The personal visit is restricted to eight cities presently, and we are in process of expanding our coverage to other cities. Fill all forms and you are ready to trade. How do I get my user ID and password for the first time? Your user name and password will be given to you at registration. The trading password will be issued only on completion of all registration formalities.

How safe is my user ID and password?

The password will be generated by the system and supplied to you such that, not even employees of 5paisa.com would know about it. It will be stored in our database in encrypted format so no one can get to know the actual password. To be on the safer side, you will be requested to change your password periodically. To ensure complete safety and privacy the user will be forced to change his password the very first time he logs into the trading site.

If I've forgotten my password, what should I do?

At the time of registration, you will be asked to create certain hint questions that will enable us to validate your user name and account. On successful validation, you will be sent a new password through e-mail. You will be required to change this password on your next login.

What products do you offer?

5paisa.com offers a series of products to suit individual needs of different types of clients on both the Exchanges (NSE and BSE). You can trade on these different products depending on the margin money deposited by you with us.

How much money do I need to start trading?

We offer the facility to execute buy and sale transactions upto a calculated trading limit, defined as a multiple of cash amount deposited by you. After registration, you will be required to deposit with us a certain amount of initial margin deposit, which will be used to calculate your trading limits. The deposit can be of any amount, but for ease of your trading operations, it should not be less than Rupees Five Thousand only. (Rs. 5,000 only).

How do I know the status of my application?

All you need to do is give your Unique Docket Number (UDN) or form serial number to our branches. When your account is activated, you receive a welcome kit, which contains details about your account, your username and password, your banking and DP details (if opted for) and the user's manual. The kit will also include a CD ROM which will allow you to install our trading software. If you wish, you could also download the trading software from our website.

Can I start trading once my account is activated?

You need to deposit some margin deposit with us before you can start trading. Margin money is like a security deposit that you pay - which we hold until a deal is completed and settled. Depending on your margin money, your exposure limit is decided. Exposure limit is the maximum value of trades that you can make. It depends on the margin deposited with us.

Can I deposit margin online?

Yes, if you have an Internet enabled account with banks like HDFC Bank or others who allow Internet banking, you could credit our bank account directly.

Are there any registration/account opening charges?

There is a nominal charge of Rupees Five Hundred only (Rs. 500 only) towards stamp duty, legal and processing fees for opening the account. This includes the registration and account opening charges. Bank and Depository Participant (DP) account opening charges, if applicable, are payable separately.

What are the documents required to open an account?

Individual customers
Passport Copy/ Driver's License/ Ration Card /Voters Identity Card IT Returns Copy/ Salary Certificate/ Employee ID Card/

Non-Individual customers
Copy of Memorandum & Articles of Association/ Copy of Annual Reports/ Board Resolution authorising investment in shares/ Networth Certificate/ Copy of Income Tax Returns/I've sent in my application.

What next?
How long does it take to open an account?


How do I keep track of my account status? After you have sent in the forms, they will be handed over to the concerned parties, i.e. registration form is with us, the bank account form goes to the bank, and the DP account form to the concerned depositary. It will take approximately 15 days to complete the formalities if all the correct documents are sent and the forms are correctly filled. At any point of time you can check the status of your account by e-mailing us or calling our customer service centres regarding any of your queries. We will respond promptly.
