At 11.30 am on Monday, headline indices Sensex and Nifty were trading higher as the second part of the Budget session will be announced today.

The crude oil price is down by 2% and is trading at $110 per barrel, as the world hopes for progress in Russian -Ukraine peace talks, even as the war keeps on raging.

The Asian markets are trading marginally higher, but the Hang Seng index is down by more than 3 %.

The Sensex was at 55,935.76 up by 385.46 points or 0.69%, and the Nifty was again above 16,650 points at 16,715.8 up by 85.40 points or 0.51%.

The top gainers in the Sensex pack are HDFC Bank, Infosys, ICICI Bank, SBI, and Axis Bank. Whereas, the top losers are Hindustan Unilever, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, and Power Grid Corporation of India.

The Nifty Midcap 100 index is trading at 28,116.25 and is down by 0.3%. The top three gainers of the index were Zee Entertainment Enterprises, SRF, and Cummins India. Each of these scrips was up by more than 2%. Similarly, the top 3 stocks dragging the index down were AU Small Finance Bank, L&T Finance, and Mannapuram Finance.

The Nifty Smallcap 100 index is trading at 10,172.10 up by 0.13%. The top 3 gainers of the index are Happiest Minds Technologies, Balrampur Chini Mills, and EID Parry. Each of these scrips was up by more than 5%. The top stocks pulling the index down are Future Retail, IEX, and NALCO.

On the sectoral front, all the indices were trading flat with Nifty IT, Nifty Media, and Nifty Private Bank being up by more than 1%. Whereas Nifty Auto, Nifty Realty and Nifty Metal, and Nifty Energy were dragging the Nifty pack marginally.
