The top 5 gainers of Sensex were Kotak Mahindra, Mahindra &Mahindra Ltd, Axis Bank, Maruti Suzuki Ltd, and NTPC Ltd. Whereas, the top 5 losers were Bajaj Finance Ltd, ITC Ltd, Bajaj Finserv Ltd, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, and HCL Technologies Ltd.

The Nifty Midcap 100 index is trading at 31,376 and is up by 0.56%. The top 3 gainers of the index were TVS Motor Ltd, Emami Ltd, and Fortis Healthcare Ltd. Ltd. All these stocks were up by more than 3%. Similarly, the top 3 stocks dragging the index include Gujarat Gas Ltd, Pfizer Ltd, and Godrej Properties Ltd.

The Nifty Smallcap 100 index is trading at 11,298, up by 0.43%. The top 3 gainers are Bajaj Electricals Ltd, Vakrangee Ltd, and Trident Ltd. Each of these scrips was up by more than 5%. The top 3 stocks pulling the index were Indian Energy Exchange LTD (IEX), JK Lakshmi Cements Ltd, and Just Dial Ltd.

 Owing to the rising Omicron cases and concerns about the same, global markets are also trading red. Only the Nifty Auto index is in green due to the announcement of the Production-linked Incentive (PLI) scheme by the Minister of State for Heavy Industries. This scheme will boost the cost-effective production of automobiles in India.
