On January 11, the Indian equity market closed up on a positive note. BSE Power is the top gainer whereas, BSE Metal was the top loser.  

Today, the Indian equity market once again closed on a positive note. Besides, some sectoral indices closed on a positive note while some closed negatively.  

In today’s trade Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex indices closed up by 52.45 points i.e., 0.29% and 221.26 points i.e., 0.37%, respectively. Stocks that supported BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 to pull the index up were HDFC Ltd, Reliance Industries Ltd, HCL Tech Ltd and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. Whereas, stocks that dragged BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 down were Bajaj Finance Ltd, Tata Steel Ltd, ITC Ltd and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex opened down by 0.03% and 0.09% respectively from the previous close.  

In Tuesday's trading session S&P BSE Power, S&P BSE Utilities, S&P BSE Information Technology and S&P BSE SENSEX Next 50 were top gainers. BSE Power index consisting of stocks such as Adani Green Energy Ltd, ABB India Ltd, Adani Transmission Ltd, Tata Power Company Ltd and NTPC Ltd were the top gainers.  

S&P BSE Metal, S&P BSE Basic Materials, S&P BSE Telecom and S&P BSE CPSE index were top losers. BSE Metal index consisting of stocks such as Jindal Steel & Power Ltd, Steel Authority of India Ltd, JSW Steel Ltd, Tata Steel Ltd and NMDC Ltd were the top losers.
