Today, on the first trading of the week, the Indian equity market closed on a positive note. Besides, all of the sectoral indices closed with a green mark.
In today’s trade Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex indices closed up by 190.60 points i.e., 1.07% and 650.98 points i.e., 1.09%, respectively. Stocks that supported BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 to pull the index up were Infosys Ltd, ICICI Bank Ltd, HDFC Ltd and Titan Company Ltd. Whereas, stocks that dragged BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 down were Wipro Ltd, Nestle India Ltd, Asian Paints Ltd and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex opened down by 0.56% and 0.54%, respectively from the previous close.
In Monday's trading session all sectoral indices closed on a positive note. Besides, S&P BSE Capital Goods, S&P BSE Realty, S&P BSE Industrials, S&P BSE BANKEX, S&P BSE India Infrastructure Index and S&P BSE Auto were top gainers. BSE Capital goods index consisting of stocks such as ELGI Equipments Ltd, GMR Infrastructure Ltd, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, Bharat Forge Ltd, Larsen & Toubro Ltd and ABB India Ltd were the top gainers.
