On December 29, the Indian equity market closed down on a negative note. BSE Healthcare is the top gainer and BSE Metal is the top loser.

Today Indian equity market closed on a negative note after closing with a green mark for the last two consecutive days. Besides, some sectoral indices closed positively, while some closed with a red mark.

In today’s trade Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex indices closed down by 19.65 points i.e., 0.11% and 90.99 points i.e., 0.16%, respectively. Stocks that supported BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 to pull the index up were Bajaj Finserv Ltd, Sun Pharma Ltd and Titan Company Ltd. Stocks that dragged the BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 down were HDFC Bank Ltd, ITC Ltd and State Bank of India Ltd.

In Wednesday's trading session S&P BSE Healthcare, S&P BSE 250 SmallCap Index, S&P BSE SmallCap and S&P BSE SmallCap Select Index were top gainers. BSE Healthcare index consisting of stocks such as Nureca Ltd, Sun Pharma Advanced Research Co Ltd, Syncom Formulations India Ltd, Venus Remedies Ltd and Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Ltd were the top gainers.

In today’s trade, S&P BSE Metal, S&P BSE PSU, S&P BSE Utilities and S&P BSE CPSE index were top losers. BSE Metal index consisting of stocks such as Steel Authority of India Ltd, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd, Vedanta Ltd, Coal India Ltd and Tata Steel Ltd were the top losers.
