The Indian market continued the winning run and closed up on a positive note. BSE Metal is the top gainer whereas, BSE Realty was the top loser.

Today, the Indian equity market for the fifth day in a row closed on a positive note. Besides, the majority of sectoral indices closed on a positive note.

In today’s trade Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex indices closed up by 45.45 points i.e., 0.25% and 85.26 points i.e., 0.14%, respectively. Stocks that supported BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 to pull the index up were Tata Steel Ltd, Infosys Ltd, Larsen & Toubro Ltd and Reliance Industries Ltd. Whereas, stocks that dragged BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 down were HDFC Bank Ltd, Wipro Ltd, Asian Paints Ltd, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd and HCL Tech Ltd. Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex opened down by 0.24% and 0.18% respectively from the previous close.

In Thursday's trading session S&P BSE Metal, S&P BSE Capital Goods, S&P BSE Power and S&P BSE Basic Materials were top gainers. BSE Metal index consisting of stocks such as Tata Steel Ltd, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd, Coal India Ltd, NMDC Ltd and Steel Authority of India Ltd led the pack.

On the flip side, S&P BSE Realty, S&P BSE BANKEX, S&P BSE Private Banks Index and S&P BSE Finance index were top losers. BSE Realty index consisting of stocks such as Oberoi Realty Ltd, Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd, Macrotech Developers Ltd, DLF Ltd, Godrej Properties Ltd, Sunteck Realty Ltd were the top drag.
