On December 15, the Indian equity market closed on a negative note. BSE Auto is the top gainer, whereas BSE Realty is the top loser in today’s trade.

The Indian equity market has been closing on a negative note in all trading sessions since Friday. Besides, the majority of sectoral indices closed with a negative mark.

In today’s trade Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex indices closed down by 103.50 points i.e., 0.60% and 329.06 points i.e., 0.57%, respectively. Stocks that supported BSE Sensex to pull the index up were Kotak Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro, Sun Pharma and M&M. Stocks that dragged the BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 down were Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Infosys, TCS and HDFC. The BSE Sensex Index opened down by 0.007% and Nifty 50 opened up by 0.008% from their previous close.

The S&P BSE Auto and S&P BSE Capital Goods were top gainers. BSE Auto consisting of stocks such as TVS Motor Company Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Hero Motocorp Ltd, Tata Motors Ltd and Ashok Leyland Ltd were the top gainers.

In Wednesday's trading session the S&P BSE Realty, S&P BSE Enhanced Value Index, S&P BSE Diversified Financials Revenue Growth Index and S&P BSE India Infrastructure were top losers. BSE Realty index consisting of stocks such as Godrej Properties Ltd, Prestige Estates Projects Ltd, Brigade Enterprises Ltd, Oberoi Realty Ltd, Sobha Ltd and Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd were the top losers.
