Domestic Indices widen gains, Reliance and Tech Mahindra lead profits. 

 After Wall Street soared to its highest day in more than three weeks as companies announced good profits for the previous quarter, Asian markets too rallied. All major Asian indices were trading higher and had made significant gains. With a gain of 175 points, SGX Nifty indicated a positive start for the broader index in India.

At 12:45 pm, the Nifty 50 was trading at the 16,579.45 level, climbing by 1.46%. On the Nifty 50 index, the top gainers were Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, Tech Mahindra and Reliance Industries Ltd whereas HDFC Life Insurance, Mahindra and Mahindra and Eicher Motors were the top losers of the session.

Sensex was trading at a level of 55,603.33, ascending by 1.53%. The top gainers were Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services and Reliance Industries Ltd whereas Mahindra and Mahindra, Sun Pharmaceuticals and Power Grid Corporation of India were the market draggers.

 In less than three weeks, the government has eliminated a levy on gasoline exports and reduced windfall taxes on other fuels. The Nifty 50 index's top gainers were Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and Reliance Industries as a result of the decision favouring fuel exporters and crude explorers.
