Indices trade lower amid weak global cues dragged by auto and energy stocks. 

 Asian markets fell, retreating from the three-week highs, as investors' risk appetite was depressed by concerns about a worldwide economic collapse. With Indian headline indicators, all of the major indices were trading down.

At 12:35 pm, the Nifty 50 was trading at the 16,597.00 level, down by 0.73%. On the Nifty 50 index, the top gainers were Tata Steel, Britannia Industries and UPL Ltd whereas Reliance Industries, Mahindra and Mahindra and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation were top losers of the session. 

Sensex was trading at a level of 55,682.83, falling 0.69%. The top gainers were Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel and Asian Paints whereas Reliance Industries, Mahindra and Mahindra and Ultratech Cement Company were the market draggers. 

Shares of Zomato plunged more than 14% in early trading to a new lifetime low as the one-year lock-in period for pre-IPO investors came to an end. Almost all sectors were trading in the red, with the top losing sectors of the session being BSE Energy, BSE Auto, and BSE Oil and Gas.
