While indices are trading down, Bajaj Finserv emerged as the top Sensex gainer by over 5%. 

Asian markets were mixed on Tuesday amid gloomy global cues. With a loss of 9 points, SGX Nifty signalled a flat beginning for the broader index in India. As the company's board of directors will be considering the proposal for a stock split of equity shares on Thursday, shares of Bajaj Finserv soared over 5%. The proposal to issue fully paid bonus equity shares to the shareholders will also be taken into consideration.

At 12:30 pm, the Nifty 50 was trading at the 16,539.00 level, down by 0.55%. On the Nifty 50 index, the top gainers were Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance and UltraTech Cement Company whereas Infosys, Hindustan Unilever Ltd and Axis Bank were the top losers of the session.

Sensex was trading at a level of 55,484.87, falling by 0.50%. The top gainers were Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance and UltraTech Cement Company whereas Infosys, Hindustan Unilever Ltd and Axis Bank were the market draggers.

As the one-year lock-in period for pre-IPO investors ended yesterday, shares of Zomato tumbled 9% after falling more than 10% yesterday to a new lifetime low. Almost all sectors were trading in the red, with the top losing sectors of the session being BSE IT and BSE Teck.
