Domestic indices trade strong powered by IT, Teck and Realty stocks. 

The strength of the global markets was followed by the Indian benchmark indices as they opened trading with a roar. At 12:20 pm, the Nifty 50 was trading at the 16,888.10 level, gaining 1.48%. On the Nifty 50 index, the top gainers were Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv and Tata Steel whereas Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Sun Pharmaceuticals and Cipla Ltd were the top losers of the session.

Sensex was trading at a level of 56,720.63, advancing by 1.62%. The top gainers were Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv and Tata Steel whereas Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Sun Pharmaceuticals and Bharti Airtel were the market draggers.  

With gains of 2% each on the BSE IT, BSE Teck, and BSE Realty, all the sectors were trading higher. Stocks in the healthcare sector, however, saw slight falls. In other developments, the government-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has received approval from the Union Cabinet for a Rs 1.64 lakh crore revival package.
