Low Price Shares locked in Upper Circuit on September 15

The domestic markets have been trading red on Thursday dragged by IT and realty stocks. 

Among the frontline indices, Nifty50 declined over 50 points to trade below 18,000 levels and the BSE Sensex declined over 300 points to trade at 60,013 levels. Maruti Suzuki, NTPC, Powergrid Corporation, HDFC and Larsen & Toubro were the top Sensex gainers whereas Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Tata Steel, IndusInd Bank and Bajaj Finserv were the top Sensex losers.

On the sectoral front, all the sectors were trading mixed, with the BSE IT Index and BSE Realty Index losing the most,1.59% and 1.53%, respectively as compared to their sectoral peers. BSE Power Sector emerged as the leader gaining 1.34%. Some of the IT stocks pulling the index down comprised Vakrangee, Datamatics Global Services and Xchanging Solutions whereas the top realty stocks putting downward pressure on the index were Adani Transmission, NHPC and Adani Green. In line with benchmark indices, the broader markets were trading mixed with the BSE Midcap Index losing 0.01% and the BSE Smallcap index rising 0.04%. 

Some of the trending stocks in the noon session were SBI, ICICI Bank, Maruti Suzuki, NTPC and PVR. Shares of PVR tumbled 5% to Rs 1,838 on the BSE in Thursday’s trade, after over 10 million equity shares changed hands on the NSE and BSE. In comparison, the BSE Sensex was down 0.46% at 60,067 points whereas, in the past three days, the stock has zoomed 5%.
