On Thursday, the benchmark indices traded flat in the volatile session. 

On the back of revived global sentiments, the domestic equity markets broke the losing streak. Nifty50 climbed over 150 points to trade above 17,000 levels and the BSE Sensex jumped over 550 points to trade at 57,149 levels.

Towards the noon session, the stocks of Hindalco Industries, ONGC, Dr Reddy's Laboratories, ITC and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries were the top gainers whereas Asian Paints, Titan, Tech Mahindra, L&T and Tech Mahindra were the top losers.

On the sectoral front, all sectors traded on a volatile note with metal, oil & gas, healthcare and energy seeing decent gains. Meanwhile, the broader markets outperformed benchmark indices where Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty SmallCap 100 indices climbed by over 1% each. On BSE, the top three mid-cap stocks were Jindal Steel, Abbott India and Canara Bank whereas the top three small-cap stocks were Century Enka, Sun Pharma Advance Research Company and Chemcon Specialty Chemicals.

Amid the volatility, the shares of FSN E-Commerce Ventures (Nykaa) jumped 6% as the board plans to think over the bonus share issue on Monday, October 3. On the other hand, shares of Go Fashion (India) rallied 6% to hit a record high of Rs 1,373.90, on a healthy outlook.
