Penny Stocks Locked in the Upper Circuit on April 28, 2022

At 11:15 am on Thursday, the benchmark equity indices, i.e. Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading sideways amid mixed global cues.

US and Asian stocks rose on Thursday amid steadier sentiment following a surge in Facebook parent company Meta Platforms Inc. Similarly, domestic markets have witnessed a good start on Thursday. But then, at 11:15 am, the Sensex was trading at 57,060.76, up by 0.42%, and the Nifty 50 was trading at 17,104.45, up by 0.39%. 

The top gainers in the Nifty 50 pack were Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Asian Paints, UPL Ltd, Reliance Industries, and Infosys Ltd. Meanwhile, the top stocks pulling down the index were Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Auto, and Hindalco Industries Ltd.

BSE Midcap index was trading at a level of 24,401.24, down by 0.05%. The top 3 gainers of the index were Rajesh Exports Ltd, Indian Hotels Co, and Varun Beverages Ltd. The top three stocks dragging the index were Balkrishna Industries, IDBI Bank and Oberoi Realty.

BSE Smallcap index was trading at 28,640.72, down by 0.35%. The top three gainers were Manaksia Ltd, Chennai Petroleum Corporation and TTK Prestige Ltd. Each of these stocks gained more than 8%. The top three stocks pulling the index down were KBC Global Ltd, Network 18 Media and Investment Ltd and ZEE Learn Ltd. Each of these stocks tanked more than 10%.

All of the sectoral indices were trading flat, with BSE Energy and BSE Oil and Gas as good performers.
