After the announcement of spectacular US jobs data for July, which raised doubts about the US Fed Reserve's aggressive interest rate hike, major Wall Street indices closed the day slightly down. Tesla Inc approved and announced a 3-for-1 stock split of the company's common stock as its shares dropped by more than 6%. The rupee depreciated to 79.46 against the US dollar.

The major indices in India opened a little higher, reflecting a mixed mood. BSE Power, BSE Utilities, and BSE Capital Goods all had increases of 1%, in contrast to BSE IT, which saw minor losses.
At 11:45 am, the Nifty 50 was trading at the 17,477.55 level, advancing by 0.46%. On the Nifty 50 index, the top gainers were Coal India, Mahindra and Mahindra and NTPC Ltd whereas; Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, State Bank of India and Britannia Industries were the top losers of the session.
Sensex was trading at a level of 58,709.15, gaining by 0.55%. The top gainers were Mahindra and Mahindra, HDFC Bank and NTPC Ltd whereas; State Bank of India, UltraTech Cement Company and Infosys were the top draggers of the session.
In just one month, shares of Tinna Rubber and Infrastructure Ltd have soared by more than 60%, with shares rising nearly 15% today. Investors’ interest has been piqued by the price volume breakout in this stock. The business turns used tyres into crumb rubber by converting them from their end-of-life state.
