Sensex falls over 400 points, Nifty slips below 15,500 dragged by metal stocks. Overnight, the major Wall Street indices rebounded amid positive global cues. The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 2.15% while S&P 500 gained 2.45%.

The Nasdaq Composite also advanced by 2.51%, led by mega-cap companies. Huge buying was seen in the shares of Tesla as the scrip soared over 9%. The automaker might shift its plans to markets in Indonesia as the brand put on hold its plans to sell electric cars in India.

In contrast, bears returned to the Dalal Street as Indian domestic indices opened on a negative note. At 10:45 am, the Nifty 50 was trading at the 15,515.75 level, which fell by 0.79%. On the Nifty 50 index, top gainers were Hero Motocorp Ltd, Bajaj Auto Ltd and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd whereas, JSW Steel, Hindalco Industries and UPL Ltd plunged by over 4.5% each.

Sensex was trading at a level of 52,151.33, declined by 0.72%. The stocks trading in the green were Tata Consultancy Services, Maruti Suzuki and Infosys Ltd. Tata Steel, Titan and IndusInd Bank were the top draggers of the opening session. Minaxi Textiles Ltd, Market Creators Ltd and Manomay Tex India Ltd were the top gainers on the BSE as each of these surged over 15%.

On the sectoral front, BSE Metals was the top loser with a loss of over 4%. BSE Metal index has slumped over 10% in the last 5 trading sessions. Today, 5 out of 10 sectoral stocks have declined more than 5%.
