Penny Stocks Locked in the Upper Circuit on May 06, 2022
On Friday, most of the leading global indices are trading at their lowest point in the last 3-4 months.
Domestic equity indices, i.e.Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading downwards amid negative global cues. In India, stocks lost more than Rs 5 lakh crores due to heavy selling in the market.
At 11:15 am, the Nifty 50 was trading at 16,362.80, down by 1.92%. The top gainers in the Nifty 50 pack were ITC Ltd, Hero Motocorp and NTPC Ltd. On the other hand, top losers were Bajaj Finance, Divi’s Laboratories and Hindalco Industries Ltd. Nifty Bank was at the level of 34,439.75, down by 2.25%. There was no single bank which was trading in the green. The top affected banks were AU Small Finance Bank, Axis Bank and IndusInd Bank.
Sensex was trading at a level of 54,608.91, down by 1.96%. Whereas, BSE Midcap index was trading at a level of 22,993.50, down by 2.63%. BSE Smallcap index was down by 2.74% and was trading at a level of 26,916.66. The top performers of Sensex were ITC Ltd, Bharti Airtel, Mahindra and Mahindra and NTPC Ltd. Stocks pulling down the index were Bajaj Finance, Axis Bank and Bajaj Finserv.
On the sectoral front, all of the indices were trading in red, with BSE Metals, BSE IT and BSE Realty being the most affected ones.
