Penny Stocks Locked in the Upper Circuit on October 13, 2022
Indian domestic indices trade lower as a result of fears triggered by high inflationary data.
In early trades overnight, Wall Street indices fluctuated somewhat between minor gains and losses, but they ended lower as minutes from the Federal Reserve meeting revealed officials had agreed they needed to continue a more restrictive approach to fight the inflation. The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.10%, the S&P 500 fell 0.33% and the Nasdaq Composite Index edged down by 0.09%.

The Indian benchmark indices started lower in line with the weak global economic conditions, weighed down by significant drops in the stocks of the banking, telecom, and financial sectors. The only sector to experience gains was BSE Healthcare.
At 12:35 pm, the BSE Sensex declined 0.84%, reaching a level of 57,143. The Nifty 50 index slipped 0.86% to the 16,975 level. On the Sensex, HCL Technologies, Sun Pharmaceuticals and Reliance Industries were the top gainers, whereas Wipro, State Bank of India and Larsen & Toubro were the market draggers.
The BSE Midcap index lost 0.88% and was trading at a level of 24,703 while the Smallcap index fell 0.60% and was trading at a level of 28,479.
