The Indian benchmark indices were trading lower, while sectors were trading mixed with BSE Capital Goods Index being the top-gaining sector today.

On Friday, the benchmark indices were trading lower with Sensex down around 180 points or 0.29% at 61,139.93.20, and the Nifty trading down by 44 points or 0.24% at 17,992.50.

Top Gainer & Losers on BSE:

UltraTech Cement, L&T Ltd and NTPC Ltd were the top Sensex gainers today, while Nestle India, Wipro and IndusInd Bank were the top Sensex losers.

The indices traded in a mixed manner in the broader markets, with the BSE Mid-cap index plunging by 0.29% and the BSE Small-cap index surging by 0.19%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Adani Power and Schaeffer India, while the top small-cap gainers were Sagar Cements and EKI Energy Services Ltd.

The indices were trading mixed on the sectoral front, with the BSE Capital Goods Index leading the gainers and BSE Realty Index leading the losers. The BSE Capital Goods Index surged by 1.35%, led by Schaeffer India and Timken India Ltd while the BSE Realty Index plunged by 1.34%, dragged down by IB Real Estate and Macrotech Developers.
