The Indian benchmark indices were trading higher with BSE Utilities Index being the top-gaining sector whereas BSE Telecommunication Index was the top-losing sectoral index. 

On Monday, the benchmark indices were trading higher with Sensex up around 208 points or 0.34% at 61,937 and the Nifty trading down by 101 points or 0.55% at 18,303.55.  

About 1,778 shares have advanced, 1,568 have declined and 184 were unchanged on BSE. 

Top Gainer & Losers on BSE: 

Sun Pharmaceuticals, NTPC and Infosys were the top Sensex gainers today, while Tata Motors, Axis Bank and IndusInd Bank were the top Sensex loser. 

The indices traded in a higher manner in the broader markets, with the BSE Mid-cap index up by 0.50% and the BSE Small-cap index up by 0.22%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers are Muthoot Finance and ACC Ltd, while the top small-cap gainers were Shreyas Shipping & Logistics Ltd and Nilkamal Ltd.

The indices were trading mixed on the sectoral front, with the BSE Utilities Index leading the gainers and BSE Telecommunication Index being the losing sector. The BSE Utilities Index soared by 1.25%, led by NLC India Ltd and Adani Transmission whereas BSE Telecommunication Index plunged by 0.25% dragged down by GTL Infra and Indus Tower. 

In the pre-opening session, these 3 stocks were trending: Fineotex Chemicals Ltd, Swan Energy Ltd and Adani Transmission.
