Indian benchmark indices are trading positively amid volatility in the market

On Wednesday, Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped by 228.96 points or 0.68%, to end at 33,310.87. The S&P 500 fell 0.38% to end at 4,055.99. The Nasdaq Composite surged 0.47% to close at 11,854.35.

The domestic market made a positive opening. Nifty surged 0.12% at 17,810.70 while Sensex went up by 0.14% at 60,385.61. The BSE midcap index traded up by 0.33% at 25,111.35, while the BSE small-cap index was also up by 0.55% at 28,641.15. Nifty Midcap 100 was the best-performing sector with a gain of more than 0.40 %, while Nifty Pharma was the worst-performing sector with a loss of more than 0.41 %.

At 10:30 pm, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, SBI Life Insurance, BPCL and Kotak Mahindra Bank were among the top gainers, whereas HDFC Life, Apollo Hospitals, Grasim, Hindustan Unilever and Sun Pharma were among the market draggers. The advance-decline ratio favoured advances with 1985 shares rising on the BSE and 1119 shares falling, while 123 remain unchanged.
