On Thursday, the key indices finished with substantial increases.

Better-than-expected inflation data in the US eased growing investor concerns about hasty rate hikes, boosting investor optimism. The Nifty finished over the threshold of 17,650. While media, FMCG, and auto shares fell, IT, financial services, and bank equities rose.

The S&P BSE Sensex increased 59.332.60 points, or 0.88%, to 515.31 points. The Nifty 50 index increased 124.25 points, or 0.71% to reach 17,659. The S&P BSE Small-Cap index increased by 0.48% and the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index increased by 0.72% in the overall market. Today's Nifty PSU Bank index increased 2.38% to settle at 2870.65. The index has increased by 8.00% in the past month. Indian Bank increased by 4.09%, Bank of Baroda increased by 3.83%, and Union Bank of India increased by 3.23% among the members.

After reporting a 46% increase in standalone net profit to Rs 243.6 crore on a 28.3% increase in overall sales to Rs 1,759.4 crore in Q1 FY23 over Q1 FY22, Bharat Forge's stock price increased by 3.39%. Uflex increased 7.42% as the company's net profit increased 41.84% to Rs 374.49 crore on net sales that increased 46.70% to Rs 3994.46 crore in the first quarter of 2022 over the first quarter of 2021.

Positive market breadth was positive as 1,782 shares increased and 1,536 shares decreased on the BSE and 162 shares in all remained unchanged. The Nifty Bank index increased 1.63% to 38,911.45, extending a four-day winning streak. In four trading sessions, the index increased by 3.06%.

The US stock market is expected to open up today, according to the Dow Jones futures, which were up 131 points. On Thursday, the majority of Asian markets rose while European stocks traded in a mixed manner. The market in Japan is closed on Thursday due to a holiday. Wall Street stocks increased after speculation that the Federal Reserve would raise interest rates more slowly than anticipated as a result of signals of dramatically slowing U.S. inflation.
