Indian markets end a three-day losing trend; FMCG, banking, and financial stocks witness a boost. 

After a choppy session on Monday, the domestic equities indices completed the day with decent gains. The Nifty touched a low of 15,661.80 in the early trade and ended the day above the 15,820 level. Shares of FMCG, banks, and financials rose, while those of metal, IT, and pharma fell. The barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, increased by 326.84 points or 0.62% to 53,234.77 as per preliminary closing data. To reach 15,835.35, the Nifty 50 index increased by 83.30 points or 0.53%.

While the S&P BSE Small-Cap index increased by 0.59 %, the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index climbed by 0.82 %. On BSE, 2022 shares increased while 1366 shares decreased and 178 shares in total remained unchanged. The Nifty FMCG index increased 2.66 %. In the past two sessions, the index has risen 5.55% to reach 39,755.65. The top gainers on the index were Hindustan Unilever (4.04%), Godrej Consumer Products (3.76%), United Breweries (3.37%), Britannia Industries (3.19%), and Dabur India (2.68%). In addition, ITC gained 2.6%, Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care gained 2.36%, Emami gained 2.18%, Radico Khaitan gained 1.86%, and Marico gained 1.72%. 

India's benchmark 10-year federal paper's yield decreased to 7.374 from 7.424 at the closing of the previous trading session. The rupee was trading at 78.95, slightly up from the previous trading session's closing of 78.94. Gold futures on the MCX for settlement on August 5 increased 0.27 % to Rs 52,055. The US Dollar index (DXY), which measures the dollar's value in relation to a variety of other currencies, decreased 0.21 % to 104.92. Brent crude for September 2022 settlement increased 24 cents or 0.21% to $111.39 a barrel on the commodities market. All of the European stock indexes rose on Monday, but there were some mixed results in Asia.
