Nifty IT Index closed down 5.74%, and the NIFTY is down 2.65%.

On Thursday, the equity indices fell due to negative global indicators. The NSE's sectoral indices all finished in the red. Stocks in information technology, metals, and media all fell. Due to the expiry of weekly index options on the NSE, trading was choppy. The Nifty 50 index was down 2.65% to 15809.4 today, while the SENSEX fell 2.61% to 52792.23.

The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index fell 2.66%, while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 2.29% in the broader market. Market breadth was narrow as 853 shares climbed and 2,474 shares fell on the BSE, 120 shares remained consistent.

Today, the Nifty IT index fell 5.74% to 28352.15. Over the last month, the index has was down 11.00%. Coforge Ltd lost 7.23%, L&T Technology Services Ltd down 7.18%, and Mphasis Ltd fell 7.02% among the constituents. In comparison to the benchmark Nifty 50 index, the Nifty IT index has gained 9.00% in the last year. Nifty Metal index has fallen 4.08% on the day, while the Nifty Media index has fallen 3.74%.
