Bharti Airtel jumps on launching 5G services in more cities from North-East

Today, the stock opened at Rs 772.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs 787 and Rs 772.05, respectively.

Launch of 5G services in the North-East  

Bharti Airtel (Airtel) has launched its cutting-edge 5G services in the North-East cities of Kohima, Dimapur, Aizawl, Gangtok, Silchar, Dibrugarh & Tinsukia. Airtel 5G Plus is already live in Guwahati, Shillong, Imphal, Agartala and Itanagar.

Airtel 5G Plus services will be available to customers in a phased manner as the company continues to construct its network and complete the rollout. Customers with 5G-enabled devices will enjoy a high-speed Airtel 5G Plus network at no extra cost until the rollout is more widespread. Airtel will augment its network making its services available across all the cities in due course of time.

Rajnish Verma, CEO of Assam and North-Eastern States, Bharti Airtel, on the launch said, “Airtel remains committed to delivering the highest quality of service to its customers. Connectivity to North Eastern states is in line with our commitment to bridge the digital divide and connect communities who need it the most. Starting today, Airtel 5G Plus is available in Kohima, Dimapur, Aizawl, Gangtok, Silchar, Dibrugarh & Tinsukia in addition to Guwahati, Imphal, Shillong, Agartala and Itanagar. With this, we have successfully powered the entire North-East region of India. Airtel customers in these cities can now experience ultrafast network and enjoy speeds upto 20-30 times faster than the current 4G speeds. We are in the process of lighting up all the cities which will allow customers to enjoy superfast access to Highdefinition video streaming, gaming, multiple chatting, instant uploading of photos and more.”

Stock price movement

On Wednesday, the shares of Bharti Airtel closed at Rs 784.95, up by 9.60 points or 1.24% from its previous closing of Rs 775.35 on the BSE. The BSE group 'A' stock of face value of Rs 5 has a 52-week high and low of Rs 877.10 and Rs 629.05, respectively. Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 785.00 and Rs 761.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 4,37,500.83 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 55.12%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 40.83% and 4.04% respectively.
