Indian equity market is trading higher today, owing to positive global cues.   

Zomato, Divis Laboratories, Bharat Electronics, Birlasoft, TRF, SAIL, Nelcast, Pricol, The Ramco Cement, TTK Healthcare, Patel Engineering, Igarashi Motors, Graphite India, Data Patterns (India), Shilpa Medicare, and Vaibhav Global will release their quarterly results today.

List of Low Price Shares Today: May 23

Following is the list of low price stocks locked in the upper circuit on Monday. Keep a close eye on these counters for the upcoming sessions.

The Central government has decided to cut the excise duty on petrol by Rs.8 per litre and diesel by Rs.6 per litre. Also, waived import duty on some raw materials including steel products. Sectoral index BSE Metal slumped more than 7% with Tata Steel, Jindal Steel and JSW Steel being the top losers.  

Major Wall Street and Asian indices witnessed mixed global sentiments. Indian benchmark indicator Sensex was trading at a level of 54,774.26, advanced by 0.82% and the Nifty 50 was trading at 16,375.70, up by 0.67%.     

At 11:55 pm, the market strength was good as 1,772 equities increased on the BSE, whereas 1,446 declined, and 183 shares remained unchanged. Around 244 stocks are locked in the upper circuit, whereas 189 were in their lower circuit. 

BSE Midcap index was trading at a level of 22,683.66, advanced by 0.79%. The top gainers of the index were JSW Energy Ltd, Container Corporation of India Ltd and Ashok Leyland Ltd. The top stocks dragging the index down were Jindal Steel, Steel Authority of India Ltd and Amara Raja Batteries Ltd.   

BSE Smallcap index was trading at 26,459.54, up by 0.41%. The top gainers were Nilkamal Ltd, Apcotex Industries Ltd and Mayur Uniquoters Ltd. The top stocks pulling the index down were Godawari Power and Ispat Ltd, Sarda Energy and Minerals Ltd and Sandur Manganese and Iron ores Ltd.
