Low price stocks: These scrips are locked in the upper circuit on February 24
At 11.30 am on Thursday, the frontline equity indices saw a bloodbath on the bourses as Russian President Putin announces military operation on East Ukraine. The Sensex was trading at 55,808.83 down by 1423.23 points, or 2.49% and the Nifty was down by 419.95 points or 2.46% at 16,643.30 levels, respectively.
The only gainer in the Nifty 50 pack is Hindalco Industries. Meanwhile, the top five stocks pulling down the index are Tata Motors, IndusInd Bank, Adani Ports, Hero Motocorp, and Tech Mahindra.
BSE Midcap index is trading at a level of 22,832.59 down by 3.08%. The sole gainer of the index is Oil India. The top three stocks dragging the index were Amara Raja Batteries, Adani Power, and RBL Bank.
BSE Smallcap index is trading at 26,092.44 down by 3.17%. The top three gainers Asahi Songwon Colors Lucky Laminates, Federal Mogul-Goetze, and Garware Hi-Tech Films. Each of these stocks gained more than 12%. The top three stocks pulling the index down include SVP Global, Orient Bell, Indiabulls Housing Finance.
Almost all the sectoral indices on the BSE were trading in the red with BSE Telecom, BSE Realty, BSE Private Bank, BSE IT and BSE Teck dragging the index down by more than 3%.
