Low price stocks: These scrips are locked in the upper circuit on March 16

At 11 am on Wednesday, the core equity indices, i.e.  Sensex and Nifty 50, were trading in the green, as the global markets are exhibiting mixed cues ahead of the Federal Reserve monetary policy meeting today.

The Sensex was trading at 56,584.07 up by 807.22 points or 1.45% and the Nifty 50 was trading at 16,893.10, up by 230.10 points 1.38%.

The top five gainers in the Nifty 50 pack are Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank, HDFC Ltd, Grasim India, and UltraTech Cement. Meanwhile, the top three stocks pulling down the index are Cipla, Tata Consumers Products, and Sun Pharmaceuticals.

BSE Midcap index is trading at a level of 23,417.07, up by 1.13%. The top 3 gainers of the index were New India Assurance Company, Voltas, and LIC Housing Finance Company. Each of these scrips gained more than 5%. The top three stocks dragging the index were GlaxoSmithKline, Procter & Gamble, and Emami.

BSE Smallcap index is trading at, 27,300.89, up by 1.16%. The top three gainers are Sagar Cements, Kirloskar Ferrous, and HSIL. Each of these stocks gained more than 12%. The top three stocks pulling the index down are BGR Energy, Future Enterprises DVR, and Urja Global.

All the sectoral indices in the BSE were trading on the upper side, with BSE IT, BSE Energy, BSE Consumer Durable, BSE Metal, and BSE Auto, leading the broader index higher.
