Low price stocks: These scrips are locked in the upper circuit on March 9
At 11.15 am on Wednesday, the markets were up by 0.70% and were trading steadily as the Asian markets edged higher in the morning, partially recovering from losses suffered in the last two trading sessions.
The Sensex was trading at 53,874.56, up by 450.47 points or 0.84% and the Nifty 50 was trading at 16,125.50, up by 112.05 points or 0.70%.
The top five gainers in the Nifty 50 pack are Tech Mahindra, Reliance Industries, Adani Ports, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, and Sun Pharmaceuticals Meanwhile, the top five stocks pulling down the index are Power Grid Corporation of India, Tata Steel, Kotak Mahindra Bank, NTPC, and ONGC.
BSE Midcap index is trading at a level of 22,675.01, up by 1.09%. The top 3 gainers of the index were Zee Entertainment Enterprises, Indian Hotels Company, and JSW Energy. Each of these scrips gained more than 4%. The top three stocks dragging the index were Indraprastha Gas, ABB India, and Bajaj Holdings.
BSE Smallcap index is trading at, 26,355.70, up by 1.28%. The top three gainers are Take Solutions, IOL Chemicals, and Thomas Cook. Each of these stocks gained more than 12%. The top three stocks pulling the index down are Brightcom Group, Bajaj Electricals, and Kennametal India.
All the sectoral indices on the BSE were trading in the green and were almost higher by 1%, with BSE IT, BSE Energy, BSE Healthcare and BSE Telecom leading the pack.
