The top five gainers of Nifty 50 were ONGC, Coal India, United Phosphorous Limited (UPL), Tata Steel, and Bajaj Auto. Whereas, the top five stocks pulling down the index are Asian Paints, Adani Ports, UltraTech Cement, Tata Consumer Products, and Shree Cements.
BSE Midcap index is trading at a level of 25,481.81 down by 0.34%. The top three gainers of the index include Biocon (up by 5.32%), Adani Power, and Jindal Steel. Each of these scrips was up by more than 2%. The top three stocks dragging the index include ICICI Securities, Mphasis, and Cummins India.
BSE Smallcap index is trading at 30,533.91, down by 0.03%. The top three gainers are OnMobile Global, TV18 Broadcast, and India Nippon Electricals. Each of these stocks gained more than 10%. Three stocks pulling the index down include L&T Technology, Gulshan Polyols, and 63 Moons Technologies.
The sectoral indices on the BSE were also showing bearish trends with BSE IT and BSE Teck trading at a discount of more than 1%. On the flip side, BSE Metal was up by 1%, followed by BSE PSU Bank.
