The frontline equity indices, i.e., Sensex and Nifty saw an extremely volatile Tuesday after a bloody Monday. However, the markets managed to close in the green after opening almost 0.80% lower on Tuesday morning.
At close, the Sensex was up by 366.64 points or 0.64% at 57,858.15 and the Nifty maintained its 17,000-mark by being up by 128.85 points or 0.75% at 17,277.95.
On the BSE, about 1979 shares have advanced, 1366 shares declined, and 89 shares are unchanged.
These stocks are likely to be in focus for Tuesday's trading session:
Tata Consultancy Services Limited: The company has partnered with the newly-launched Microsoft Cloud for Retail, expanding its collaboration with the hyperscaler. Microsoft Cloud for Retail is a secure industry-specific cloud that brings together various Microsoft technologies, linked by a common data model to connect experiences across the end-to-end shopper journey with integrated and intelligent capabilities. TCS will help retail clients accelerate their growth and transformation journeys using Microsoft Cloud for Retail. The scrip of TCS was at Rs 3770.10, down by 0.04%, on the BSE.
Saregama India Limited: In its journey to achieve regional music ambitions, Saregama announced that it has fully acquired over 1500+ songs belonging to 280 Telugu films released over the last two decades including songs from super-hits like RX100 and Ninnu Kori from Mango Music.
Mango Music sold both audio (sound recording and publishing rights) and video rights of this massive repository to Saregama. This acquisition of the Mango Music catalogue will strengthen Saregama’s position in the Telugu market. The shares of Saregama were up by 0.58% at Rs 4950.30 at market close on Tuesday.
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited: The share of PGCIL have hit a fresh 52-week high on Tuesday amidst all the market volatility. The shares went up to Rs 220.15, a 2.9% increase from the previous closing price. The price increase also comes after PGCIL made Rs 170 crore deal with Sterlite Technologies to build a unified network management system (UNMS). The scrip was at Rs 218.75, up by 2.27%, on the BSE, at day end on Tuesday.
52-week high stocks – From the BSE 500 pack, the stocks of Hitachi Energy, Maruti Suzuki, Bharat Dynamics, Power grid Corporation of India Limited, and ABB India have hit their 52-week high on Tuesday.
