On Thursday, the headline indices Sensex and Nifty 50 opened in the green and surged up to 2% higher at market close. This bullish wave arises after the Federal Reserve hiked the interest rates by 25 bps, after the widespread speculation, amidst positive comments about the US economy’s path ahead.
The crude oil price also dipped below the $100 per barrel mark.
The Sensex closed at 57,863.93 up by 1047,28 points or 1.84% and the Nifty was at 17,287.05 up by 311.70 points or 1.84%.
On the BSE, 2,099 shares have advanced, 1,303 shares have declined, and 127 shares are unchanged.

Indian Oil Corporation Limited: IOC has been granted an investment approval of Rs 7,282 crore for the development of city gas distribution (CDG) network in 9 geographical areas. The approval was awarded to the company by Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) in the 11th round of CGD bidding, the oil company said in a regulatory filing. With these 9 under Indian Oil’s fold, the company will now have its presence in 26 geographical areas on its own along with 23 areas through its Joint Venture companies, IOC stated. The scrip of IOC was at Rs 121.4 down by 0.41% on the BSE.
Godrej Properties Limited: Godrej Properties has announced that they have sold 855 homes worth Rs 1,650 crore within a year of the launch of their project, Godrej Woods in Noida in March 2021. This includes sales of Rs 509 crore in March 2021 and sales of Rs 1141 crore in FY 22 YTD. Situated in Noida - Sector 43, homes at Godrej Woods are set amidst a lush green urban forest with over 600 trees. The stock was at Rs 1,597.20, up by 4.61% on the BSE.
Titan Company Limited: Shares of Titan Company hit their all-time high today amid a strong rally in the afternoon session. The stock, gained 5.14% to reach an all-time high of Rs 2,720 on the BSE. Recently, Titan has picked up a 17.5% stake in Stamford, Connecticut-based lab-grown diamond maker Great Heights Inc for an estimated $20 million through its subsidiary TCL North America Inc. This strategic investment will provide Titan with a ring-side view of the fast-growing lab-grown diamond and direct-to-consumer sectors. The shares of Titan were at Rs 2,703.25 at market close on the BSE.
52-week high stocks: From the BSE 200 pack, the stocks of Trent, Titan Company, Cholamandalam Investment and Fin Co, Sun Pharmaceuticals, and Procter & Gamble have hit their 52-week high on Thursday.
