At market close on Thursday, the Sensex was down by 2.14% at the 52,930.31 level and the Nifty 50 was trading at 15808.00, down by 2.22%.

A total of 3,447 shares were traded on the BSE, out of which 747 shares advanced, 2,614 shares have declined and 86 remained unchanged.

These stocks are likely to be in focus for Friday's trading session -

Punjab National Bank: On Thursday, shares of Punjab National Bank tanked by 12.54% following a poor financial performance in the quarter of March 2022. It recorded a net profit of Rs 201.57 crore in comparison with the net profit of Rs 586.33 crore in the same quarter of the previous year, declining by 65.62%. The scrip settled at Rs. 28.95.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone: The board has rescheduled its meeting for the approval of audited financial results to 24th May 2022 which was supposed to be on 11th May. As a result, shares of the company fell by 5.82% to Rs 715.70. It recorded a net profit of Rs 483.37 crore in comparison with the net profit of Rs 622.55 crore in the same quarter of the previous year, declining by 22.36%.

IndusInd Bank: Being the top loser on BSE Sensex for today’s session, the bank’s share fell by 5.82% and settled at Rs 869.45. On the sectoral front, most of the sectoral indices were trading in red, with BSE BANKEX being one of the most affected sector. Considering Nifty Bank, no single bank was trading in green whereas most affected banks apart from Punjab National Bank were IndusInd Bank, Federal Bank and Bank of Baroda.

52-week high stocks – From the BSE 500 pack, the stocks of Abhinav Capital Services Ltd, Alpine Housing Development Corporation and Avro India Ltd have hit their 52-week high on Thursday.
