Relative performance is one of the measures used to screen stocks for further analysis. In this post, we would be listing top stocks with the best relative performance.

On Tuesday, US benchmark indices ended higher, with S&P 500 exiting its correction zone. This was amid the optimism over negotiations on a cease-fire in Ukraine along with a decline in commodity prices. Yesterday, Russia’s military stated that they would turn down its operations near Ukraine’s capital and a northern city.

This led to West Texas Intermediate (WTI) Crude to decline almost 1.6% to settle at USD 104 a barrel on Tuesday. The yield on the US 10-year Treasury note fell 7.7 basis points to settle at 2.4%.

On Wednesday, Asian indices apart from Japan ascended as investors weighed higher on the possibilities around de-escalation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Nifty 50 on Tuesday surged for the second successive day, jumping around 103 points to 17,325. For the next few trading sessions levels of Nifty 50 is likely to hover between 17,300 to 17,750.

Over a particular period if the stock performs better than its universe in terms of returns, then it is known as a relative return. It is nothing but the difference between the stock’s return and the return of its universe. This is different from the absolute return, as absolute return is a standalone measure that is not compared to anything.

Below is the list of top 10 midcap stocks with best relative performance.
