Foreign Institutional Investors' (FII) assets under custody (AUC) dropped to Rs 62.38 lakh crore, the lowest since January 2024, due to persistent market sell-offs.
FIIs sold off Rs 78,027 crore in January and Rs 34,574 crore in February, with the auto sector seeing the most significant outflows.
FIIs offloaded stocks in sectors like auto (Rs 3,279 crore), healthcare (Rs 2,996 crore), FMCG (Rs 2,568 crore), and more during February's sell-off.
Despite the downturn, FIIs were bullish on telecom, buying Rs 5,661 crore worth of stocks, followed by chemicals and media with Rs 112 crore and Rs 34 crore.
Indian markets fell sharply in February, with Sensex and Nifty losing over 5%. Analysts warn of continued outflows due to weak growth and high valuations
