LIC Buys ₹19,400 Cr in Q3; Adds Hyundai, NTPC Green, Maruti, Nestle & More

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) was a net buyer of equities worth ₹19,400 crore in Q3 FY25. This marks an increase from ₹18,094 crore in Q2, though lower than ₹23,516 crore in Q1.

LIC invested ₹2,913 crore in Maruti Suzuki and ₹2,774 crore in Nestle India during Q3. These additions strengthen its position in auto and FMCG sectors.

LIC made fresh investments in Hyundai Motor India and NTPC Green Energy, signaling its confidence in renewable energy and the automobile sector.

While LIC increased holdings in 81 stocks, it reduced stake in 87, including Tata Power (₹1,931 crore), Infosys (₹1,712 crore), and HCL Tech (₹1,600 crore).

LIC’s ₹15.29 lakh crore portfolio saw shifts amid market corrections. Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) invested ₹1.86 lakh crore, countering FII selling of ₹11,788 crore in Q3.
