Market Crash – Sensex & Nifty Hit New Lows

Sensex dropped 1,009 points to 73,602, while Nifty fell 316 points to 22,228 amid heavy selling. Market cap eroded by ₹6 lakh crore, with Nifty hitting a 9-month low.

US President Donald Trump’s tariff hikes on Canada, Mexico, and China raised global uncertainty. Investors fear an escalating US-China trade war, triggering sharp market declines.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 2.3%, while China’s CSI300 lost 0.8%. Japan saw largest foreign outflow in 5 months due to a strong yen, inflation worries, and tariff fears.

Nvidia shares tumbled 8.5% due to a weak margin outlook, dragging global tech stocks lower. Japan’s Nikkei hit a 5-month low, while Hang Seng fell 1.3% for the week.

Experts suggest Indian markets may recover in March as FIIs ease selling. Long-term investors can accumulate fairly valued large-cap stocks, especially in defence and key sectors.
