Wilmar owns SRSL as step-down subsidiary (via Wilmar Sugar Holdings Pte Ltd). Wilmar owns 62.5% of SRSL, giving it complete management control. Wilmar's chairman, group chief financial officer, & group head of sugar are on SRSL's board. operational connections between two organizations are fueled by similarities in Wilmar's three primary business segments—tropical oils, grains, & sugar—and SRSL's operations. About 20% of Wilmar's total sugar capacity is made up of SRSL. For refining sector, SRSL primarily purchases raw sugar from Wilmar at reasonable pricing & credit terms.
The companies' strategic connections stem from Wilmar's continued concentration on sugar industry, which it hopes to expand through consumer products, gain market share in crowded areas, & take advantage of growth prospects in ethanol business.
