Berger paints India limited is the second largest paint company after Asian paints in the country and is headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal. It has consistently been one of the fastest growing paint companies quarter on quarter, for the past few years. History of Berger Paints Limited 

If we talk about its history, it has come a long way. Mr. Hadfield, an Englishman, founded Hadfield's (India) Ltd, a small paint company in Calcutta, in December 1923.

In 1973, the company started generating new products in the marine, industrial and decorative segments. In 1997, at Pondicherry, a new manufacturing unit was inaugurated and in 1999, Rajdoot paints limited was merged with Berger Paints. In 2000, the company acquired Jenson & Nicholson Nepal private limited which was later renamed Berger Jenson & Nicholson, Nepal. 

The company's subsidiary companies are Berger Jenson & Nicholson (Nepal), Beepee Coatings,  and Berger paints overseas. In 2016, Berger Paints India Limited won first prize in NECA, and in 2004, the company has bagged the top taxpayer's award.
