About Deepak Nitrite
Mr. C.K. Mehta founded Deepak Group in 1970, with DNL serving as its flagship company. It started out as a manufacturer of sodium nitrite & sodium nitrate, operating entirely within country, & over time it expanded its range of products. Currently, DNL leads market for majority of its products both domestically & internationally. With more than 100 products in its range, DNL can be roughly categorized into two segments: phenolics & advanced intermediates. The company operates five production facilities: one each in Hyderabad, Telangana; Taloj & Roha in Maharashtra; & Nandesari & Dahej in Gujarat. DNL maintains a research & development center in Nandesari, Gujarat. A further factor in the company's success has been its deliberate purchase of businesses with complementary product lines.
Company's wholly-owned subsidiary, DPL, officially opened its phenol & acetone manufacturing plant in Dahej in November 2018. DNL recorded net profit of ₹ 852.0 crore on operating income of ₹ 7,992.1 cr on consolidated basis in FY2023, as opposed to net profit of ₹ 1,066.6 cr on operating income of ₹ 6,821.3 cr in FY2022.

In terms of sodium nitrite, sodium nitrate, & NitroToluenes, Deepak Nitrite holds ~75% market share in India. With a market share of almost 50%, the company has been successful in replacing most of the local market's imports of acetone & phenol. Additionally, it ranks in top three worldwide players for oximes, cumidines, & xylidines.
