    Avenue Supermart Limited owns and operates the supermarket chain of Dmart stores. The company has its headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It was founded in 2002 by one of the greatest traders of the stock market in India whose name goes b Radhakishan Damani. 

    Simply said, Avenue Supermart Limited is a supermarket chain, doing its business activities in the name of Dmart. It had 324 stores in 72 cities across 12 states in India as of 31 March, 2023. Dmart deals in products like groceries, daily Essentials, home and furniture, home Appliances, clothing, footwear, toys, etc.

    Avenue Supermart Private Limited was incorporated on 12 May 2000 in Mumbai as a private limited company under the Companies Act 1956. After some time the company was converted from private to a public day and due to this the name of the company has also changed to Avenue Supermart Limited. Dmart entered Gujarat in 2007 with its first store in the state. After three years the number of total stores crossed 25 across India with revenue of over ₹1,000 crores as per the audited balance sheet. The number of stores crossed more than 50 in 2012. Within 2 years the stores have crossed the count of 75. Due to the spread of supermarket chains across cities and states of India, they crossed a revenue mark of ₹5,000 crores. In 2016, the revenue has crossed over ₹7,500 crores with stores increased to 110.
