Company Brief

Hero MotoCorp is a multinational scooter and motorcycle manufacturer based in New Delhi. It is currently the world’s largest manufacturer of two-wheelers and boasts over 100 million customers globally through its range of products and services.

The company has six manufacturing facilities in India and offers a series of bikes across a variety of specifications and a range of auto parts and accessories. Some of its most popular models include Splendor, Passion, Maestro, Pleasure, XPulse, and Xtreme. 



Hero MotoCorp had initiated its operations back in 1984 as a joint venture of Honda Motor and Hero Cycles.

The company became famous in India in the 1980s for its low-cost, fuel-efficient vehicles. It was in 2010 that the decision to terminate the joint venture was made, according to which the Hero Group purchased a 26% stake Honda in the company.

The name was changed to Hero MotoCorp from Hero Honda Motors in 2011, and the company could now export to West Asia, Latin America, and Africa.

As of 2020, Hero MotoCorp had an annual production capacity of 9.1 million units across its eight world-class manufacturing facilities. In 2021, it became the only Indian automobile business to exceed 100 million in production. Recently, the company has also introduced a virtual showroom to let customers explore and purchase scooters and motorcycles digitally.
