    About Hindustan Petroleum Corporation

    After Esso Eastern Inc. & Lubes India Ltd. were nationalized & combined with acquisition of Caltex Oil Refining (India) LtdHPCL was founded in 1974. 2018 saw ONGC purchase 51.11% share in HPCL fromGovernment of India. HPCL is a marketing & refining company that works together. It is India's third-largest oil refining & marketing corporation, with significant interests in oil marketing. It runs two refineries, one in Visakhapatnam with installed capacity of 13.7 MTPA & one in Mumbai with 9.5 MTPA, for total capacity of 23.2 MTPA.primary activities of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. include production of hydrocarbons,marketing of petroleum products,refining of crude oil, provision of services for administration of E&P blocks.

    Through Joint venture with Mittal Energy Investments Pvt Ltd,Singaporean corporation,company also operates 11.3 MTPA refinery in Bathinda, Punjab. Through Joint venture withRajasthani government, HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Ltd ('CRISIL AA/Stable'), is building9 MTPA greenfield refinery-cum-petrochemical complex near Barmer. With 22,022 retail locations, terminals, depots, vast network of cross-country pipelines, HPCL boasts robust distribution & marketing infrastructure network.

    HPCL (74%) Rajasthani government (26%) are partners inRajasthan Refinery (HRRL).$8.8 billion project will increase refinery capacity by 9 MMTPA on approximately 4500 acres of land. As of Q2FY24,company had spent approximately 4.5 billion dollars.
