KRBL Ltd. is a leading global agribusiness company headquartered in India, specializing in the production & export of rice & other agricultural products. Established in 1889, the company is known for its flagship brand, "India Gate" Basmati rice, & its strong market presence in the agribusiness sector.
Market Leadership: The company exports more branded basmati rice than any other company in India. Its India Gate trademark is acknowledged as the best basmati rice brand in the world. It also houses Punjab's largest rice milling facility. It has the most extensive rice contact farming network coverage. According to Nielsen, as of Q1 FY25, the company's market share in India for basmati packed rice is 37% in the general trade & 45% in the contemporary trade.
Concerns about exports: Middle East geopolitical unrest has caused payments from countries like Iran & Iraq, which account for about 40% of India's exports of basmati rice, to be considerably delayed. In spite of this, the business is optimistic about selling 100,000 tons of rice in Saudi Arabia & is thinking about opening an office or selecting a different distributor.
New category: After three years of operations following debut, the company hopes to bring in between Rs. 200 & 250 Cr from the healthy edible oil category.
