Company History
In 1999, a group of 10 industrial professionals from Cambridge Technology Partners, Lucent Technologies and Wipro incorporated Mindtree. The team was led by Ashok Soota. Mindtree has formed successful business and technology alliances with big companies like Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Oracle, Bluetooth SIG, Intel, IBM, SAP, Orange, Sun Microsystems and many more.
Milestones
1999 - Formation of Mindtree with two customers and commitment of funding of US$9.5 million at its inception.
2000 - Investment by Walden Software Investments Limited, amalgamated Holdings Limited and Vaitarna Holdings Private Limited in first-round funding.
2001 - Investment by Franklin Templeton Holding Limited, commenced IT outsourcing partnership with Volvo, received a second round of funding from Global Technology Ventures Limited, Walden Software Investments Limited and Capital International Global Emerging Markets Private Equity Fund.
2004 - Acquired the software division of ASAP and ARPSL.
2005 - Acquired Linc Software Services Private Limited. Opened West Campus Development Center in Bangalore.
2006 - It signed a LOI for expansion of facilities in the SEZ in Chennai, acquired land in Bhubaneshwar for expansion of facilities, and launched a development centre in Chennai.
2008 - Company’s name was changed from Mindtree Consulting Ltd to Mindtree Ltd.
2010 - Mindtree signed a pact with Carlyle Group, one of the world's largest private equity firms for providing IT infrastructure to them. They also got a contract from the government’s Unique Identification Project (UID) for application development and maintenance services.
2012 - Mindtree ranked among the top 5 global R&D services providers
2013 - Launched Gladius - a video management software for advanced surveillance
2014 - Mindtree and SAP announced the first Managed Mobility Offering in Australia. I Got Garbage (IGG) - The technology platform for waste management is open to Bangalore citizens
2015 - Acquired Relational Solutions Inc. Launched Global Learning & Software Delivery Center
2016 - Entered service integration capabilities agreement with Sandvik, acquired Magnet 360, launched IPv6 Stack for Bluetooth Smart and next-gen managed services framework.
2017 - Mindtree (Relational Solutions) included in the Market Guide for Trade Promotion Management and Optimization for the Consumer Goods Industry by Gartner.
2019 - Mindtree has been placed on The Best of The Global Outsourcing 100 list by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP).
2020 - Named leader in ISG Provider Lens Archetype report on Next-Gen Private/Hybrid Cloud - Data Center Services & Solutions.
