Orient Paper & Industries Ltd. is a leading global paper and electrical products company headquartered in India, specializing in the production of paper, tissue, and electrical equipment. Established in 1939, the company has a strong market presence in the paper and electrical industry.
Capex: In order to finance its anticipated 475 Cr in capex, OPIL intends to get a term loan of about Rs. 240 Cr. By modernizing and de-bottling its production capacity over a two-year period, the investment hopes to increase efficiency and production capacity to 1.35 Lac TPA. It also seeks to increase the pulping capacity from 300 to 400 tons per day. But given the state of the sector at the moment, the corporation has decided to take its time with this capital expenditure.
Land Bank: OPIL own around 850 acres of idle land in Brajrajnagar, Odisha, the location of its first paper production.
A component of the $2.9 billion, multifaceted C K Birla Group is OPIL. It is a virgin tissue paper maker and exporter with ISO and OHSAS certifications. The company offers premium paper for many different printing and writing purposes, including books and notebooks.
