Reliance Infrastructure Limited on Sunday said that it has sought a review of the insolvency-related surveillance framework, under which trading in the company's stock is allowed only once a week. Reliance Infrastructure Limited, in a statement, said it has submitted a formal representation to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), National Stock Exchange (NSE), and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), seeking a review of the Additional Surveillance Measure (ASM) linked to Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) and the related trading restrictions on its shares. Citing adverse impact on more than 7 lakh public shareholders, Reliance Infra said that the current framework, which permits trading only once a week within a narrow 5 per cent price band, results in price movements that are largely mechanical and predictable. About Reliance Infrastructure
Reliance Infrastructure Limited, based in Mumbai and founded in 1929, is an Indian company that generates, transmits and distributes electricity to various consumers. It has three main areas of operation Power, Engineering and Construction and Infrastructure. The Power segment includes a 220 MW power plant in Samalkot, a 48 MW plant in Mormugao, a 9.39 MW wind farm in Chitradurga, and a 165 MW plant in Kochi, along with power distribution in Delhi and power trading. The E&C segment provides services such as construction, erection, commissioning, and contracting. The Infrastructure segment focuses on developing, operating, and maintaining toll roads, metro rail systems, and airports. The company also explores and produces coal bed methane from four blocks across Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Rajasthan, and oil and gas from a block in Mizoram. Additionally, Reliance Infrastructure is involved in the rehabilitation and upgradation of NH-66, manufactures cement and defense systems, offers urban transport solutions and develops real estate.
