Molbio Diagnostics Limited is an IP-driven medical technology company focused on point-of-care molecular diagnostics. Its flagship Truenat platform provides portable, rapid molecular testing that can be deployed closer to patients instead of requiring samples to be processed exclusively through large central laboratories.

The company's molecular diagnostic platform is used to test for infectious diseases and operates on a recurring-consumables business model, with diagnostic instruments creating demand for associated test kits. Molbio's products are used by government healthcare programmes, international aid organisations and other healthcare customers.

Molbio has manufacturing operations in Goa and Visakhapatnam and continues to invest in research and development to expand its diagnostic portfolio. Its business combines diagnostic instruments, proprietary technologies and recurring test-kit sales, giving the company exposure to India's growing molecular diagnostics market.

Molbio Diagnostics IPO is a book-built mainboard issue of approximately ₹939.70 crore. The issue comprises a fresh issue of ₹200 crore and an offer for sale by existing shareholders.

The IPO opened for subscription on August 10, 2026 and closed on August 12, 2026. The basis of allotment is expected to be finalised on August 13, 2026, following which shares will be credited to successful applicants ahead of listing on BSE and NSE.

The price band was fixed at ₹768 to ₹807 per share, with a lot size of 18 shares.

Molbio Diagnostics IPO Share Price and Investment Details

Molbio Diagnostics IPO price band was fixed at ₹768 to ₹807 per share, with a lot size of 18 shares. At the upper price band, the minimum investment for one retail lot works out to ₹14,526.

The IPO is proposed to be listed on BSE and NSE. The issue attracted exceptionally strong demand on its final day, particularly from institutional investors, pushing total subscription above 70 times.

Given the 186.39 times QIB, 49.77 times NII and 12.80 times retail subscription in the provided final data, demand significantly exceeded the shares available for allotment. Listing performance, however, will ultimately depend on prevailing market conditions and investor demand when the stock begins trading.

Utilisation of IPO Proceeds

Molbio Diagnostics proposes to utilise the proceeds from the fresh issue primarily for capital expenditure towards setting up infrastructure for a new research and development facility, Center of Excellence and connected office space.

A portion of the proceeds will also be used to purchase plant, machinery and other equipment for Goa Unit I, Goa Unit II and the Visakhapatnam Unit, while the remaining amount will be used for general corporate purposes.

The company will not receive proceeds from the offer-for-sale portion. Those proceeds will be received by the respective selling shareholders after applicable offer-related expenses and taxes.

Business Overview

Molbio Diagnostics operates in the molecular diagnostics industry, where its technology is designed to enable rapid diagnostic testing at or near the point of care. Its Truenat platform combines portable diagnostic equipment with disease-specific test kits, creating a recurring revenue model as the installed instrument base generates continuing demand for consumables.

The company has recorded significant growth in recent years. Revenue increased from approximately ₹840.6 crore in FY24 to ₹1,455.2 crore in FY26, while profit after tax increased from approximately ₹83.5 crore to ₹164.1 crore over the same period.

Key strengths include proprietary molecular diagnostic technology, a recurring consumables-led business model, point-of-care testing capabilities, established manufacturing infrastructure and continued investment in R&D and product development. The healthcare industry's increasing focus on decentralised and rapid diagnostics provides a structural growth opportunity for the company.

Investors should also consider risks associated with dependence on government agencies and international aid organisations, regulatory approvals for diagnostic products, competition from global diagnostics companies, technology obsolescence and the need for continuous investment in research and product development.
