Sigma Advanced Systems secures ₹973 crore NATO order

On Tuesday, Sigma Advanced Systems secured a ₹973 crore order from a NATO customer for Base Bleed Units used in 155 mm artillery ammunition. The company’s exchange filing said the contract covers manufacture and supply and will be executed over 12 months.

Order covers Base Bleed Units for 155 mm ammunition

Sigma Advanced Systems’ exchange filing valued the contract at USD 102.23 million.

A Base Bleed Unit is fitted into the rear section of an artillery shell and generates a controlled flow of gas during flight, reducing aerodynamic drag. The Economic Times reported.

Sigma Advanced Systems said in its exchange filing that execution of the order is scheduled over 12 months.

Shares rose 5% after securing the order

NSE data showed Sigma Advanced Systems shares rose 5% after the order was announced, with the stock reaching an intraday high of ₹861.30 on the exchange.

Sigma’s 155 mm capabilities span shells, fuzes and Base Bleed Units

The company said the new contract builds on its existing capabilities in 155 mm artillery shells and fuzes. It also said its manufacturing scope includes Base Bleed Units.

Sigma Advanced Systems said it is developing and integrating key components of complete 155 mm artillery rounds.

Sunil Kalidindi, CEO and executive director of Sigma Advanced Systems, said repeat orders reflected customer confidence in the company’s execution and delivery.

October 21 order was Sigma’s fifth 155 mm engagement since May

On October 21, Sigma Advanced Systems secured an order worth USD 19.7 million, or approximately ₹174 crore, from a North American NATO customer for critical 155 mm artillery ammunition subsystems.

The October 21 order is scheduled for execution by the second quarter of 2027, according to Sigma Advanced Systems’ exchange filing.

Sigma Advanced Systems said that order was its fifth engagement in the 155 mm segment since May 2026.

Manufacturing for the October 21 order will be carried out within the Sigma ecosystem, the company said.
